ABOUT FAST START
Fast Start was created to replicate a childhood experience of a local parent. As a child, Scott Millson was introduced to a community-based track and field meet through his elementary school. That event served as his motivation and created his passion for running, which carried over into his junior high, high school, college, and adult life. A veteran of many marathons, a multitude of local road races, and several triathlons, Scott can clearly point to that elementary school track meet as the root of his love of running.

As a father of four and a coach to many, Scott saw a unique opportunity to share that love of running by creating an event similar to the one he experienced as a child. As a result, he founded and currently chairs, Fast Start Management, Inc, a 501(c)(3) organization who hosts Fast Start each year. The inaugural event was held on January 28th, 2006 and saw 500 student athletes participate in the event. It was an unmitigated success and has served as a springboard for the annual event.

The following committee chairs serve as the foundation of the Fast Start event. The committee chairs are:
